Player, coach, volunteer, or sponsor — your way into a century-old Hertfordshire club with National League men, Championship women, and one of the largest junior sections in the country.
About the club
A century of rugby in St Albans
Old Albanian RFC was founded in 1924 by former pupils of St Albans School, with whom we still share a site today. We celebrated our centenary in 2024 and are one of the leading community rugby clubs in the UK.
Based at Woollams in St Albans, Hertfordshire — widely regarded as one of the finest grounds in community rugby, with three floodlit grass pitches among five in total, a full gym and a clubhouse built around the rugby. Twenty minutes from London, with great links to schools and the wider community.
We field four men’s sides — led by a 1st XV in National League Two East (Tier 4) — and two senior women’s sides, with our 1st XV competing in Championship South One. Our Mini & Junior section is one of the top five in the country and the largest in the South East, with 700 to 850 children at Woollams every Sunday across boys’, girls’ and mixed age groups from U5 to U18.
