Questions, answered
- Do I need coaching qualifications?
- We welcome coaches at all levels — from those with RFU Level 1 or Level 2 through to enthusiasts keen to learn. Many of our coaches have developed their qualifications at OARFC. If you're new to coaching, we'll pair you with experienced heads.
- What age groups do you coach?
- We run Minis (U5–U11), Juniors (U12–U16), Colts (U17–U18), four girls’ age groups up to U18, four senior men’s sides and two senior women’s sides. Coaches can usually focus on one age group or help across multiple.
- How much time commitment is required?
- It varies. Most age groups train weekly Tuesday or Thursday evenings (1.5 hours). Senior men also train Saturday mornings match-day. Many coaches help on a fortnightly or match-day basis.
- Do you offer strength and conditioning coaching opportunities?
- Yes. OARFC has dedicated S&C staff supporting senior men. We're also keen to develop junior S&C coaching. Drop your details below and we'll discuss opportunities.
